Drinking Buddies is an annual month-long hydration initiative that takes place every July. It started simply — drink more water. But it has grown into something deeper: building a real relationship with hydration, your health, and each other.
The idea is straightforward. Before July 1, you’ll decide how many ounces of water you want to drink each day — a goal that’s personal to you. Each morning throughout the month, you check in with your buddy or group to share whether you met your goal or simply made the attempt. There is no winning or failing here. There is only showing up.
That’s where the “buddy” comes in. Grab a friend, a family member, a coworker — anyone who’s willing to commit to the month alongside you. Motivate each other. Celebrate each other. Show up for each other.
And this year, we’re going beyond the bottle. Drinking Buddies 2025 expands into water-rich foods, because staying hydrated is also about what’s on your plate.
Before making any sudden changes to your diet or water intake, please check in with your primary care physician to make sure this initiative is right for you.
We are mighty. We are well. Now let’s drink up — together.
How to participate
Joining Drinking Buddies is simple. Here’s how it works:
Find your buddy. Invite a friend, family member, coworker — anyone who’s ready to commit to the month alongside you. Can’t find a buddy?
Join our group and find your people there.
Set your goal. Before July 1, decide how many ounces of water you’ll aim to drink each day. Make it personal. Make it realistic. Make it yours.
Check in daily. Every morning, check in with your buddy or group. Share whether you met your goal or simply made the attempt. There is no winning or failing — only showing up.
Explore beyond the bottle. This year we’re also highlighting water-rich foods. Because hydration is about more than what’s in your cup.
Please check with your primary care physician before making any sudden changes to your diet or water intake.
