Sparkling Water with Fruit Juice: A Perfect Summertime Beverage

Summer is here, and that means it’s time for refreshing drinks! If you’re looking for a healthier alternative to sugary sodas and juices, sparkling water and fruit juice is the perfect option.

“Sparkling water is naturally carbonated water that comes directly from sources such as an underground spring or well. Sparkling water can also contain different minerals, such as sodium, magnesium or calcium, depending on the source.” It’s a zero-calorie, zero-sugar beverage that is naturally hydrating. Fruit juice, on the other hand, is a good source of vitamins and minerals, but it can be high in sugar. Just be sure to choose juices that are low in sugar.

By mixing sparkling water and fruit juice, you get the best of both worlds: a delicious and refreshing drink that’s also good for you.

Here are a few fun and easy recipes for sparkling water and fruit juice drinks:

Berry Blast: Combine 1/4 cup of berry juice, 1 cup of sparkling water, and a handful of fresh berries in a glass. Or nix the berry juice altogether and let your berries infuse with sparkling water for a fizzy treat.

Pineapple Passion: Combine 1/4 cup of pineapple juice, 1 cup of sparkling water, and a slice of pineapple in a glass.

Watermelon Spritzer: Combine 1/4 cup of watermelon juice, 1 cup of sparkling water, and a few slices of watermelon in a glass

Orange Sunshine: Combine 1/4 cup of orange juice, 1 cup of sparkling water, and a wedge of orange in a glass.

In addition to being a healthier alternative to sugary drinks, sparkling water, and fruit juice offer several other health benefits. For example:

•         Improved digestion

•         Reduced bloating

•         Promoting weight loss

•         Keeping you hydrated

To maximize your enjoyment of sparkling water and fruit juice drinks, consider these additional tips:

•         Use fresh fruit whenever possible.

•         Use a variety of fruit juices to create different flavor combinations.

•         Experiment with different garnishes, such as fresh herbs, edible flowers, or sliced fruit.

•         Store sparkling water and fruit juice drinks in the refrigerator for a refreshingly cold treat.

So next time you’re looking for a refreshing and healthy drink, add a little razzle-dazzle to your sparkling water with fruit juice. Your body, and taste buds, will thank you!

By the way, drinking a ton of fizzy water, like I did during my pregnancies, can mess up your teeth by stripping away enamel. So, moderation is key, my friend!
