How do I unwind after a demanding day?

I start my unwinding with a long warm shower by myself. I have young children so I wait until they are in bed so I can guarantee no interruptions. Sometimes I have music and other times I don’t. It’s really whatever I’m in the mood for. After I’ve soaped down, I’ll finish my shower using a skin-softening body scrub. No specific scent, I have a few, just whatever I’m in the mood for. My favorite right now is a watermelon-scented body scrub by Tree Hut.

After my shower, I pat dry my skin, turn off my music, and lay on my bed naked for a while. If you have never laid down naked on your bed after a shower I recommend it. I don’t know why, but it’s one of the most peaceful and relaxing things I do. As I feel relaxation set in, I grab my tub of shea butter or bottle of almond oil to massage into my skin. I take my time with each body part and savor the self-massage.

By the time I’m all buttered or oiled up, I am done for the night. Completely relaxed and ready to snuggle down with a book or go straight to bed. Don’t call me. I won’t answer.
