As Parker’s fourth birthday approaches, I’m reflecting on our time together before Lincoln. When Parker was a baby, and he was our only child, he was so perfect! I couldn’t imagine having that same kind of love for another child because my heart was overflowing. He was already so outgoing and seemed to be a natural leader how could I not give him a sibling. Before we even tried, we were blessed with another pregnancy and along came Lincoln. His best friend. And he is Lincoln’s best friend. Having two under two is not for the faint of heart but it is truly amazing to see them love on each other. It makes all the madness worth it. Parker deserves a younger sibling who looks up to him, laughs at all his jokes, follows his directions, and ultimately looks up to him in every way. That is who Lincoln is to Parker. They are God’s gift to me and God’s gift to each other. I would love for my boys to have a younger sibling. They are both so gentle and sweet with babies, but if it is not in God’s will, I can rest assured that these two are enough for each other and will be there for each other through thick and thin.
