Oatmeal gets a bad wrap. It’s dry. It’s bland, It’s boring. Yes. Oatmeal is all of that but it doesn’t have to be! I’ve been an avid Oatmeal eater all my life and tried many variations depending on my mood. Below is my favorite recipe created by yours truly. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
INGREDIENTS
• 1 3/4 cup of 2% milk
• 1 cup of oats
• 1/4 cup of raisins
• 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
• 1/4 teaspoon of organic Madagascar vanilla
• 1 tablespoon of light brown sugar packed tight
DIRECTIONS
• Bring milk to a boil over medium heat
• Add oats, cinnamon, vanilla, light brown sugar and raisins
• Stir until all ingredients are mixed well
• When contents begin to boil, bring heat down to a simmer
• Set timer to 10 min
• Stir frequently and Oatmeal will begin to thicken
• After 10 min, remove from heat, let cool a bit and serve warm
