Yesterday we took a ride into the city to catch some of Parker’s friends and favorite characters in action at the Sesame Street Roadtrip, “a nationwide road trip to celebrate the iconic program’s 50th anniversary. The 10-city trip will bring together community partners, celebrities, elected officials, and families to highlight the many ways that Sesame Street—and the nonprofit organization behind it—helps kids everywhere grow smarter, stronger, and kinder.”
In typical Sesame Street fashion, it was a family oriented event with music, interactive learning stations, free water stations, free diaper changing stations fully stocked with Pampers diapers and a complimentary valet stroller parking.
Some of the acSome of the activities we partook in were the giant maze, the cookies-and-milk snacks station with Cookie Monster, a couple photo ops and Parker’s favorite, the stage show. As long as Parker is still a fan, we will be on the lookout for more Sesame Street events.
We don’t head into the city very often, so we seized the day and met up with my folks at Union Market after the event. Union Market, I’d say, is a destination in D.C. It’s not just a culmination of places to eat it’s a cultural experience. We grabbed a few eats and let Parker run around before heading back home
